CONDUCT FOR FIELD TRIPS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
We want to try to do field trips that appeal to groups as opposed to individuals. The benefits are group rates, discounts, special events or tours that are not usually applied to individual families.
All field trips and events have a sign-up deadline. Once this deadline has passed, you may sign up on a waiting list. In the event that a field trip participant is unable to attend, the waiting list names will be given the opportunity to participate. These names will be selected in the order in which they are received. All fees must be received prior to the trip/event and are due once you receive notice you may attend.
All field trips and events will have a fee associated with them. Each family must pay in advance for fees or tickets to the field trip organizer before the deadline date that has been established. You are not considered registered for a trip/event until after all fees have been paid. If the fees are not paid until after the deadline, your fees will not be accepted and you will be placed on the waiting list (see Field Trip/Event Deadlines). If you are not registered for a trip/event, please DO NOT attend. It is a bad reflection on the group in the community if we make reservations for a certain number and then twice that many show up.
This money will be non-refundable for any reason to allow for the rest of the group to still get the group or discounted rate. If there is no fee or ticket price associated with the field trip, we will still be collecting a small fee (non-refundable) of $1.00 per person to ensure your commitment to the field trip. This money will either be donated to the general fund, or be used during the field trip for a small treat.
Everyone who is in the field trip group will be expected to coordinate or help with at least one field trip during the school year. This would include:
These guidelines serve as a reminder for us all as to what to expect as we do things together and as we move about in our community for various activities. Parents, let’s face it, we ARE under a microscope. Our children (and us) may be the only representation of home education that many people encounter. What’s more, it may be up to us to undo a negative impression that another may have left. It behooves us to rise above and let our conversation and conduct be above reproach. May we bring glory to our precious Lord Jesus. That’s really what it’s all about!
